I forgot one. So there were ten Scimitars/Sabres present. I think the backdrop to this photo is quite impressive.

You missed one , there was a Red SS parked near Concord . It had a rollcage fitted and the nose panel had been cut to give to 2 extra cooling intakes for Intercooler? No photo I’m afraid but no doubt somebody may have snapped it . Roger Pennington was there he may have seen it .

Sounds like Geoff Courderoy’s sprint car.

Brookland New Year's Day 2019

Just got back a short while ago; not had time to download my photos yet, but yes, it was Geoff's SS1. Excellent day out with a great turnout of cars, no doubt helped by great weather bearing in mind it's only January :D

Tony, you must have a good nose for Scimitars, you managed to sniff-out more than I did!

Yes it was me!
saw the other Scimitars including Rogers but did not see any owners to talk to. Plenty of other cars to see and a good day out helped by the weather for a change.

Hi Geoff, yes, when there are so many interesting cars to look at, you tend to spend most of your time looking around, not with the car. I did go back to the car briefly for lunch, as the clubhouse was absolutely heaving with people. Here's the photos I took of your car:

Brookland New Year's Day 2019

Post by Roger Pennington » Wed Jan 02, 2019 7:21 pm

When I read through this thread again in the cold light of day, I discovered that Tony did actually miss another GTE :) Alan's Se6a was there too, so that's another one to add to the count making 12 altogether (unless someone can find some more! )

Here's Alan's:

Steve and Sue's very nice early Se5a (of Southern Classics, GRRC, and this forum)

The Se6a of David (from our local noggin and Southern Classics) whom some of you will have met on recent Internationals

Next, the black Se5a (I don't know the owner, are you on here?)

Then the other black Se5a, parked by Concorde (Nigel's?). I chose to take my "car + aircraft" shot the other way around, :)

Brookland New Year's Day 2019

Finally, a few gratuitous shots of the Yellow Peril :D

Later in the day, I walked up to the top of the Members' Hill onto the bridge and took a couple of shots from a less usual viewpoint (by then the cars and people were thinning-out a bit):
