Essex V6 oil filler cap

Post by IanAl » Fri Sep 21, 2007 12:34 pm

A new oil filler cap for the Ford Essex V6 engine. My Ford dealer says they are no longer available, Graham Walkers say the same thing!

The Fiesta one can normally be bought at a local motor factors; I just tried Burton Power first as they seem to stock just about everything mechanical for Fords...

why do you need a cap with the take off pipe, mine doesn't have that, any advantages ?

Don`t need a take off pipe, unless you have the Alloy covers that don`t have the re breather take off fitted.
The standard cap vents to atmosphere and the re-circulatory circuit breathes through the base of the carb.

Holy thread revival :D

Take off pipe is useful for competition cars that need an oil catch tank.

Edit - thread moved to gen tech as it’s not a valid remanufacture request.
