Trial SS1

I have just got ( yet to pick it up)a SS1

Its a 1.9 CVH, galv chassis , vauxhall carlton vented front brakes.

so its got some good mods so far.

Does anyone have some experence on building a trials car?

Steve - as you won't need the vented discs for trials :-), let me know if you want to sell them please!

jim-thats the second offer I have had for them and I havnt even seen the car yet!

do you know if its possible to get steel wheels for the SS1

Any Golf mk2 wheel will fit. And much more others.

sent off my entry for the Exeter trials tonight so its all on to prep the car for the first week in January

just watch the offset on the VW wheels - older the better - as Erik says Mk2 Golf era is fine.

What about BMW mini, some of those have steels in 15x6ish i think, or 'G60' steels as they are known, from VW - where still available new until recently. No idea of offsets though.

Look forward to seeing this develop, needs pictures ASAP.

Mazda MX5 steels fit a treat, 14x5.5j and usually very cheap, watching a set local to me atm.
