Tried the free app at Curbs.

Whilst the timing was about 3 secs short (presumably the start), the lap charts are very interesting with speeds etc. helpful with gears and lines.

Anyone gone for the chargeable update? Benefits?

I bought the pro version for iPhone - looks very good but I haven’t played with it much yet.

You can see by the time and distance that the last lap didn’t capture properly

And you can see from the track that it wasn’t very accurate - which is probably mainly a result of the poor signal you always get at Curbs

And this is the top bend where you can see from the graph that it’s lost signal

I used an external GPS device which was a bit of an issue to set up but shows better accuracy (but worse lap times :) )
This woild have been using GPS signals not a mixture of GPS and GSM.

That’s more like it. Is that still on a phone but with an external GPS hooked in?

Accuracy of the position may be phone/network dependant. I used a Samsung S7 on EE. Hooked up to a Garmin GLO
Initially this device did not appear to be working it will connect to Apple devices like an ordinary Bluetooth device but not android.
Also I had problems because it was mounted out of reach, when not in use it goes into power save and had to be turned back on.
I also have some GoPro footage I should be able to link once I have the time!

It looks like I need to work on my lines around most of the track. Do you get better results than this? It may be due to the Stealth styling of my car making it undetectable from space...

It does depend on the quality of your GPS. Obviously comparisons between runs and events are valid. Helps me decide when to stay in 3rd, go to 4th etc. I presume you get speeds at points on the track overview, and graphs of speed against time?

As above, mPS was way off at Curborough - Peter Smith has a remote GPS receiver in the roof of his car, which is much more accurate.

Can’t help with loading to desktop at the moment as I’m not home but will try it next week.
