Yep, my thoughts too. Hope Aintree makes up for it a bit? Interested in Llandow though...

They couldn't get Blyton as it clashed with another event apparently. :(

“CM Chairman” wrote:Good morning all. Just a quick note with regard to our 2020 season.
Firstly, no doubt you've seen that Motorsport UK has cancelled all event permits up to 30th April 2020. This means that we lose 5 rounds of our championship i.e. Gurston x 2, Aintree and Wiscombe x 2. At this time it is not possible to estimate how long the UK will be in lockdown and so I will not speculate what further impact the virus could have on our sport. For now at least, we will remain sensible, pragmatic and optimistic that the virus will blow itself out eventually. In the meantime, if you have entered any events in April, I recommend you approach the organising the club(s) and reclaim your entrance money. Personally, I would be reluctant to roll the money into a future event at the same venue because none of us knows if there will be future events this year.
The important thing for all of us is to keep it in perspective. Club motorsport brings us great joy, but not as much joy as being alive and so we will comply with the advice we are receiving and avoid close contact and social gatherings for as long as it takes.
When this all blows over, our championship regs will be rebuilt to reflect the remaining available events. At that time we will assess if a) what events are available, what type of events they are, how many rounds could make up a your championship score, etc, etc. For now, I wish you all well and suggest you take a cup of tea and packet of digestives into the garage and await further orders.
When I hear any more I will be in touch.
Stay well people.
Best
Steve

Motorsport UK Extends Suspension of Motorsport Permits to 30th June
Released Tuesday 24 March 2020
In light of recent developments in the COVID-19 crisis, and following the address to the nation by the Prime Minister on the evening of 23rd March, Motorsport UK has today extended its suspension of all organising permits and Certificates of Exemption for motorsport events until at least 30th June.

That’s the first 13 rounds gone

Chairman CM wrote: Good evening folks.
For anyone not on Facebook, please see the note below:

2020 will go down in history for all the wrong reasons and motorsport has been one of the (less important) casualties. We won't know if there are to be any events in 2020 for some weeks yet, but when we do, we'll try and make sense of what's on offer. What we do know is that it will be a pale version of what we are used to. IF there are any events, the organising clubs and tracks will undoubtedly have to organise social distancing and touchless signing on etc so this will be no small challenge for them too.
Classic Marques is wholly supportive of its members and club motorsport generally and so when events become available we will offer them to our members provided sensible safety measures have been published in advance by organising clubs.
PLEASE BE ADVISED we have decided to rule off our membership for this year as at 30th April 2020 and we will recompense our loyal members by extending their membership until 31st December 2021.
If you were going to join this year but never got round to it, I recommend you do it now.
Many thanks for your loyal support of Classic Marques. I have not had one request for a refund for this year which has been heartening in these difficult conditions.
Stay well people.
Best regards
Steve
