Didn’t Don P have a Tiger?
DARK STAR wrote:

He did indeed, he had very good taste 8)
Following the above quotes and looking at the photo I had a nagging doubt that the Tiger was Don’s, so checked my photos. Don’s had a white roof so not the one in the photo, see below Don talking to my Father during the Golden Fifty Rally. John

Another picture of Don's Tiger, which was an ex-works car.

This was at Stowe School, Bucks in 1988 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Tiger. They wanted 100 Tigers, and if I recall they did get just over that. Spectacular sight 8)

To bring this back on topic, below is Ragley Hall, again in 1988

I know it's GW's 18ti, but there is a Coupe in the background - Is it Mike Thompson's?
(I seem to have loaned my Coupe pics to someone, or misplaced them :| )

LOL.
I would have been there Chris, and before I bought my first Scimitar. My girlfriend at the time, lived next door to the owner of the white GTE in the background. It wasn't consciously the reason I bought a Scimitar

You'd have found me with the 911SC on the Porsche Club stand at Auto Sunday through to 1995.

Time for another retro-update, here is WRF 886G, chassis 5092 which has had a varied history.
Two owners, one to ‘83, exhibit at Gladstone Pottery Museum, Stoke-on-Trent, originally light blue metallic, then dark blue, for sale by Len in Oxford 2014 at 1395 sterling, needing body-off restoration, chassis rusty but recent new engine.

Last taxed in 1982, new V5c in 2016 so presumably someone bought it.
Any news?

That`s MY engine crane and in my old shit hole.
We collected the car from Brize Norton and the New owner at the very last minute when 5 mile from where it was supposed to be delivered to announced that he couldn`t take it there as the garage were not too happy at what it needed doing.

We took it to the farm and left it on the trailer and while I waited for a decision on where it was supposed to go the owner started to strip it out.
Against my better judgment I agreed to take on the chassis resto, BAD MOVE.

Absolute BS, the V6 was that bad the waterpump had seized and I had better looking scrap engines in the yard at that point.

The guy harassed me for weeks to drop everything I was already doing to make the new chassis parts, of which there were many, but I was working Full time and all over the country so could only do small bits at a time.

He tried to farm the work out to another guy who called at the farm, took a good look and walked away, eventually the owner found another garage to finish it off and I took the chassis and shell to the owners house.

Some time later I heard it had been sold through faceas book to a farmer back down south still not re assembled.

I could ask the Guy who owned it and where it went??.

Have found the pictures of the NEW outriggers.
It was decided to open the bottom exhaust pipe holes and fasten bridging plates over them to make them easily accessible in the future.
