Does anybody know if the metal ashtray in the 6a is the same as a land rover. As a non smoker an ashtray is surplus to requirement and the space that it occupies could well be used to fit a blanking plate specifically for land rover and extra rocker switch fitted.

Land Rover ashtray (on top of the dash) is much smaller IIRC.

On the SIII I had the whole dashboard left of the speedo was a ash tray, might have had something to do with the P.O. being a heavy smoker however... :lol:

I'm going to turf the ashtray and just use some 3mm black Plasticard and with the help of some tiny black screws secure it in place. Easy stuff to work with too.
