That specimen, unless my eagle-eyes deceive me, is ULD 636R. The car was bought by my friend, Dome, last summer. He put it up for sale a few months ago, but I've heard nothing of it since.

Here's the original thread from when Dome got the car:
http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/view ... 25&t=29961

And if that street sign says Fingal Place, that would mean the photo is taken near The Meadows, in Edinburgh - an area which I just happen to be visiting this Saturday. I will try and take a little nosey around if I get the chance...

So, can I join your subterfuge network, Will?

By Jove! I do believe you are right, well spotted Sir!

It was a phone photo but the sender did say it was an "R" reg and from enlarging the photo it is either that reg. or a very close match.

All new members of the SSSN (Scottish Scimitar Spotters Network) welcome, Tom!

Let us know if you find it when you are in Edinburgh.

Well, I popped by yesterday afternoon and no, sadly it was nowhere to be seen. Hopefully it's found a good home anyway.

Some years back I lived adjacent to the Meadows whilst a spotty student and in almost that same spot on a regular basis was a very tired but very roadworthy TVR Vixen which I also used to see down at the Kings Buildings. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I'd like to think that's the same person who has now evolved to a Scimitar.

Mathewsons auction 6b

Post by scimitargtc » Thu Aug 08, 2019 4:48 pm

Been meaning to go for ages anyway swmbo said as it’s our 32nd wedding anniversary today we should go. The 1984 they have has a club sticker in the rear hatch, recently mot’d with not half a bad mot history according to dvla site. When it says it needs paint oh boy does she need paint.. oh yes and interior as half is leather half is brush velour. Strange protuberance from the bonnet which is capped off no idea what that’s for ...

Give us a clue or two, who or where is Mathews? What’s the registration? Presumably a 6b or GTC if it’s 1984?

Ah, an old friend... This one never seems to have quite settled with anyone long-term, sadly. Here's a post from a few years back regarding its sighting in Edinburgh...
