That Mini Cooper(sic) isn't worth a third of that figure either!

EBay just offered me a voucher for £5 off the Mini. Surprisingly, I'm still not tempted!

a 2008 Cooper S convertible? I’m looking at useable 2003 Cooper S for a grand upwards.

my daughter just traded a good 128000 miles 2007 cooper S turbo charged for £950. And we were pleased.

Just sooo many of them around they are hard to sell, and buyers are picky

mixed reviwees on it. Generally felt solid to drive and the main mechanical components were fine but so many smaller electrical bits failing, including sensors all the time (brake pads sensors, engine light related sensors, abs light (wiring under the drivers seat), steering wheel, coil packs, alternator ....)

whereas my wifes 2008 3 dr vauxhall corsa pocket rocket hasn't had one thing go wrong ? (should i have said that) :w :w

Is we sideways yet...

I think I’ve mentioned before that I bought one new in 2003 and still see it occasionally as I used to work with the owner - apart from normal stuff it’s just passed 110k miles and is in immaculate condition - never been garaged, often driven hard but dealer serviced religiously, never broken down and never had a sensor fault or electrical problem :D

The later turbos aren’t as nice as the supercharged IMO but I doubt you’ll find a semi-decent rag top for under 1500.

Totally agree Mike , we have two Coopers in the family , about the same year as your daughters , and we just get one electrical issue after another . Just fixed the lock warning light on one and a little time back cam sensors and coil pack on the other . Some of the non dealer garages in this area cannot sort some of the electrical / ecu issues because the " soft wear " is expensive to buy apparently . The old problem of do I keep it, now I have got so and so done or do I get rid ,and if get rid what can I buy . Like you, we also have a Vauxhall , Corsa 1.4 which keeps on going with very few issues [ lets both cross our fingers ] Richard
