For sale and wanted guidelines

Please make sure there’s a location in your advert - particularly if you don’t want to post/courier.

Please bookmark (this will notify you of changes to the thread when you next login), or subscribe (this will send you an email notification) your for sale or wanted thread, so that you don’t miss any responses.

Please post “SOLD” as a reply in your thread rather than editing the first post as this will highlight it to the mods.

We try to archive any technical information that creeps into the occasional advert before moving it, but please point it out if you notice anything worth keeping.

Sold items will be locked and moved to “removed for sale & eBay” and eventually deleted entirely.

Any post older than 6 months will be locked and moved to “removed for sale & eBay” - “bump” the thread if it’s still available/wanted.

If you want a thread moving back from “removed for sale & eBay” for any reason, just ask - it only takes a few seconds.

Trade adverts are restricted to members of the RSSOC only.

It’s extremely bad form to advertise your own wares on someone else’s for sale thread until they’ve sold theirs. Likewise, the first person to express an interest should be allowed to confirm or deny purchase before others jump in.

By all means ask for offers if you don’t have a price in mind - but it’s not ebay, so please don’t ask for people to bid against each other in public.

just a warning that there are nasty people out there - this scammer is still particularly active in the classic car/retro car/car spares market and always seems to have a garage full of exactly what you need (abandoned resto etc) but very obtuse regarding location, payment, collection, etc.

cash on collection is always best unless you know or trust the seller IMHO, then the most you've lost is some time and a bit of petrol money?

just be careful because if seems too good to be true - it just might be.

The RSSOC and Scimitarweb administrators accept no liability for any transactions carried out either via or as a result of any posting on here.
