There is this GTC on Car & Classic - according to VIN plate from the GTC Register, it should be an Auto:

Nothing to do with me, just bringing to attention :)

Thanks for spotting this one. You can see the auto change gear lever through the window in one of the pics, yes auto. With the rusting window frames and poor fitting hood I am not sure it's a £7,800 car though.

I won't make too much comment on prices of GTC's, as I've seen great cars go for very little and mediocre cars go for surprisingly more than you would expect!

It's located in Kettering - same town as QRG, so *may* have been regularly maintained at one of the marques few specialists. Of course though, the owner may not have done so! I'd of thought it's worth a call just for that.

Rusting window frames are quite common, and hoods are not difficult to remove/refit. Expensive to replace though.

If you want a nice auto then the Middlebridge has the best gearbox - 4 speed instead of 3 speed - it will cost you a lot more though and they don't often come up for sale.

I sold my manual GTC a couple of years ago and got no where near the price being asked. It wasn't concours neither was it any worse than the one mentioned. It is not the price being asked it is locating one that requires very little to do. Happy to pay market value for a GTC or a GTE auto.

Not a Middlebridge ( wrong year to start with ) although the price is - looking at the gear stick it still has the three speed box
