Hi guys. I did the same this morning. He must think there's something going on. I'll have to measure mine to make sure. Thanks for that Brian. Cheers Phil D.

Phil what is wrong with yours?.

There are a lot of different ratios for the Coupe out there, I have at least Two for spares.

Hi there. My axle howls like a monkey with it's nuts in a grinder. I can check the ratio (v6 overdrive ) Nigel says there is more than one width of axle. seems strange More confusion. I'd be grateful for any further info. Holdup....my book says 3.58:1 Cheers Phil D.

Presumably he means there are two widths of 7HA - SE4 and very early SE5?

Hi guys. Your help is much appreciated. Yes it's definately a v6 coupe with o/d. The ratio that I quoted is in my copy of the workshop manual. Cheers Phil D.

The very early Coupe 7HA axle was, I believe, the same width as the slightly narrower Sabre Six axle.

Early in the Coupe's life this was changed to the somewhat wider 7HA axle (about an inch, maybe an inch and a half, wider? Certainly not very much), but I'm not clear if this coincided with the change from the Sabre-type leading/trailing arm arrangement of the first 59 cars to the twin trailing arm & Watts linkage design of the subsequent Coupes. Or did it coincide with the change from the S6 to the V6 engine after 297 cars? Anyone know for sure?

I have a feeling it may have been at the latter point, because other front and rear suspension mods including changing the design of the rear twin trailing arms was done at this time. Don Pither talks a bit about this in TSAIF, p88.
