SE5 4-speed plus O/D gearbox rebuild

Where are you?
QRG and Graham Walker or other Club Traders should be able to help.

Look what came in the post today

Electric window failure

They were new old stock and I remember stripping them to clean out the sticky toffee and replace with grease. I also remember grinding away half the door and the b...

Electric window failure

Hot wired the rh window (left one is inaccessible until I can get the car out past two others), it worked. Checked the switch function, ok. Checked the continuity between the switch and the door contacts, ok. SO (I am getting cleverer) the problem could only be dirty contacts. Cleaned them and bingo...

Electric window failure

The car concerned is a Coupé but the electric windows are SE5a. Neither window wants to move, one is right up and the other down about 5 cm. I have so far removed the console interior and discovered there is power to the switches. Next I will hot wire the door contacts to see if they go down. After ...

Phil must be psychic (or is that psychotic)
I'll start a new thread but you are right.

Mark, you have found one thing that is standard on my Coupé, apart from the wheel my steering is as it came out of the factory.
And very good, but perhaps I shouldn't say anything :)
