Shere Hill Climb 1 Sept 2019

I'm entered with a Fireblade engined Caterham but (sorry Graham914 if you're reading this ...) there's probably a 90% chance a friends non-scimmy entry won't be ready in time so our coupe will be a stand in. As it did last year 2 days after we bought it! We're numbers 183 and 196.

Standard tyre sizes

My previous coupe used to rub the rear wheels over bumps. Was old, weak springs rather than a tyre or wheel size issue.

Overdrive breather

I think those are a different design. But let me remove it from the O/D casing and I'll see how the whole thing looks.

Overdrive breather

It's the actual event that's loose. Seems to be held in by a spring that allows a fair bit of wobble.

Overdrive breather

Here you go. I think it's a standard Laycock unit from 1967. It's in a 3.0 V6 coupe.

Overdrive breather

We've been refurbing the gearbox on the coupe and as we're about to refit the overdrive unit to it noticed that the breather on the top of the overdrive is very wobbly and loose fitting. Is this how it's supposed to be? Seems a good potential source source of oil leaks given the pressures in the ove...

FS: Straight Six Coupe

That's much nicer than some of the other cars that have gone through dealers recently for similar prices. You might want to think about SOR through a dealer. Although you'll be looking at ~10% commission at this price point the ability to p/x, have finance and a warranty offered can push the price u...

SE4 listed today on C&C - £17.5K

There seem to be a number of straight sixes going for high teens. Is this the new level?

Coupe exhaust manifolds needed

Simpsons said £1100-£1200 + VAT for first set then they would see where they are once that set's complete to give quote for further sets.

There's a post on the Facebook group of some Simpsons exhausts, I think on an SE5, and they truly a work of art.

Gearbox layshaft end float

Simple question but does anyone know what the gearbox layshaft end float should be? It's a 67 coupe with 2 rod gearbox.

Gearbox input shaft play

Ta. Having looked at it more closely the bearing is a bit rough and sticks occasionally. So it's now all apart and ready for a new one.
