HT coil wiring

Phil, it wasn't that I thought that the altermator was generating the heat, I just thought that it's cooling fan might have been blowing the engine bay heat towards the coil. No time yet for a longish run, but hopeful thst where the coil is located now might have aleviated the problem. Mike.

HT coil wiring

Thanks very much Phil. Wired the coil as shown and went for a drive. No change unfortunately. Coil almost too hot to touch, and still mis-firing. So, got to wondering if the heat could be coming from an external source , rather than being electrically generated, despite it being mounted on the inner...

HT coil wiring

Perhaps I should add...coil was supplied by Accuspark as well, so should complement their ignition module. Mike.

HT coil wiring

Sorry Phil, coil measures 3.5 ohms, so correct for non-ballasted system, Car is V6 on new Accuspark electronic ignition. Cheap and cheerful I know, but I've had the same on at least 2 other cars (addmitedly 4 cylinder jobs) with no issues at all.

HT coil wiring

Hello folks, daft question, but I can't find a wiring diagram that shows the polarity of the HT coil connections. Specifically, does the feed from the tacho go to positive or negative on the coil ? At present it's on the negative. Car starts and runs well, but after 5 or 6 miles the car starts to mi...

1968 SE4 Coupe V6 Man/O.D.

My Se4 Coupe has to go. Unfortunately I haven't got the space to keep it in the comfort that it deserves. Good overall condition. Regularly driven. It's obviously Tax and MOT exempt. However, it passed the MOT last week with no advisories. Earlier this year, in preparation for a tour to Holland(sadl...

LRP 335E Sprint Coupe

I certainly can't recommend 1mm cutting discs either. This week I fabricated a couple of new outriggers for my Coupe. Cut the back of my left hand on Monday, cut theback of my right hand on Wednesday. Still, finished the outriggers and now have a matching pair of wounds as souvenirs. Ho hum.

Unless they've changed recently, Screwfix have a £40 threshold for free delivery.

Try Moss for your grease (and many other consummables). They are still doing mail order, but of course you have to pay p&p. Depends how desparate you are.

This one is also on your list. BGC 167G, chassis 857. Reason for mentioning it, is that it appears several times in "Running report" a regular feature in the now defunt Your Classic magazine. I'm going through a load of old magazines and saw the car in 1991/2 editions. It was owned at that time by T...

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

That Hot Rod is so cool, but the Noble does nothing for me I'm afraid (much like most so-called "supercars". Prefer my SE4.

Roof lining

has anyone done this just by tucking the lining behind the screen rubbers. I'm concerned that it would be difficult to tension the lining properly. Mike I had the rear screen rubber replaced and the head lining wasn't tucked in properly when they put the new one in. I've not be able to tuck it in p...
