GTC No. 404    

This is a very rare opportunity to purchase the very best GTC to come onto the market in recent years. It has been the subject of a 5 figure restoration project, and has been fitted with the best parts available and stainless fittings where possible. The car is from the final hand built batch with a factory galvanised chassis. Only 70 cars of this specification left the factory, half of which had automatic transmission. Therefore this is one of just 35 manual overdrive cars to leave the factory with a galvanised chassis (The holy grail of GTC ownership). The car recently won a "Best in Show" award at Capesthorne Hall.

The bodywork was restored and painted by a well known TVR/Lotus/Marcos fibreglass specialist. The GRP was meticulously repaired with the finest materials, all shut lines and panel edges were redefined prior to a multi-layer paint process.
The interior has been re-trimmed in the finest black and grey leather. All door and rear passenger panel cards have been replaced with new old stock items. Carpets are new.
The car has a brand new double duck hood with new webbing and press studs.
All exterior lighting units are brand new (except rear fogs and number plate lamps). The rear lights are an upgrade to the original Lucas units. Jaguar XJS electric mirrors have been fitted. Stainless steel door frames have been fitted. A brand new electric heated windscreen has been fitted but has not yet been wired.

The braking system has been completely overhauled with reconditioned calipers, new brake linings, pipework, master cylinder and wheel cylinders. Drilled/grooved discs have been installed. A fully reconditioned steering rack was fitted also.

The engine was reworked 20,000 miles ago with a hot cam, Weber DGAS carb, stage 1 unleaded heads and tubular manifolds. During the recent restoration the valve stem seals were replaced, the radiator was reconditioned, all aluminium hose connection points replaced, stainless pipework fitted with silicone hoses. Alternator, electronic ignition module, water pump, autochoke, fan, battery etc. all replaced with new items. Stainless steel exhausts and fuel tank are fitted.

The gearbox is the four speed unit with overdrive on 3rd and 4th. This changes smoothly and has only required an oil change. The rear differential is silent and the oil has been changed.

The front suspension has been stripped, cleaned and painted. New polybushes and ARB droplinks have been fitted along with new ball joints and TRE's. Fully adjustable shock absorbers and uprated springs are fitted to all four corners. The wheels and tyres are brand new.

This car represents 100's of hours work and many thousands of pounds in parts and services. You won't find a nicer one for sale and I truly believe that this is what the car is really worth. The cost of commissioning a car of this standard would be in excess £30,000

GTC No. 303     

This is an opportunity to purchase a GTC that needs some renovation work hence the price.  There have been 9 registered keepers from new. This car was bought by myself in 2005 and has been stored undercover in a garage since 2006 (5 years).  There is no MOT or tax but it has been on a SORN since it has been garaged. There is a slight tear in the black soft top and might now need to be replaced.  There is also a split in the driver’s cream velour seat.There is some previous service history and previous MOT’s to authenticate the mileage. 

In 2005 when I bought this car it had just been serviced.  Unfortunately as this car has been stored in a garage since 2006 more cars have been stored around it.  It has made it very difficult to get this car out of the garage to take any new pictures.  I am submitting the pictures that I had when I bought it.  Please bear in mind that this car will have deteriorated since 2006 and will not look as it does in the pictures.

GTC No. 177     

1981 Reliant Scimitar GTC. Number 177. Cologne 2.8 engine, 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive. Very useable clean ,tidy but not perfect. Reliable and well maintained. Red in colour with black velour interior. Just been MOT'd with 79000 miles on the clock.

New hood, but with tiny repaired cut in it. Hard top with electric rear window, hood down cover and toneau cover all in good order, wolfrace alloy wheels, stainless steel petrol tank and part exhaust, silencers. Brakes have been overhauled, new suspension bushes and new adjustable rear shocks fitted.

MOT'd to September 2011, 4 owners from new current owner 7 years
Good history with all MOT certs from 1990, authentication certificate from Graham Walkers, original bill of sale and specification list from factory and record of most work done.
Car has a waxoyled chassis, stainless steel exhaust, tow bar (never used by current owner), electric ariel, tinted windows, locking handbrake, power steering, black velour seats and black carpets, wolfrace alloy wheels, puddle lights.
Recent work done includes new Weber 38DGAS carb, 4 brand new Dunlop SP250 Tyres, new big battery, new HT leads, coil and distributor leads.
The car has only covered 4000 miles in the last 7 years is always garaged and is only out in the summer (on SORN from October to April) every year.  It is extremely reliable mechanically and everything works as it should.  The hood is original and is ok, the frame is sound and in good condition although the fabric is beginning to wear and has had a few repairs, it will probably need a new hood sooner rather than later although it is rarely driven with the hood up.  The plastic windows have a few cracks and are quite discoloured.  The bodywork has a few stone chips and slight crackling on the boot lid.

This is a very fine original car which needs very little to make it an excellent example.

Lady owner since 1986, This car is one of the few that has a galvanised chassis and in 2002 the original engine was replaced with a 2.9 efi and four speed automatic gearbox, this conversion was carried out by high peak classics in Buxton. The interior has been beautifully re-trimmed in beige leather as shown in the photo's. The wheels are original wolfrace and all tyres nearly new,  the car has been in everyday use since august 2010 following several years resting in our garage, she has had new brake pipes, pads etc, new stainless exhaust system and trunnions replaced in 2010, MOT until august 2011.

The asking price reflects the following, the hard top shown in the pics needs re-lining & the hood although serviceable needs a small repair, also the engine bay is painted yellow due to the fact that she was to receive a re- spray in that colour that did not happen.

GTC No. 309   (taken off sale)  

Current owner since July 2004.
The car is a manual and is fitted with electric windows and electric door mirrors.
The interior was brown leather and chocolate brown trim. It is fitted with a black carpet and some "temporary" black velour seats. I have the original brown leather seats but they require some refurbishment.
The Buckskin coachwork is original. The engine has a Weber 38DGAS carburettor with manual choke. The hood is in poor condition and needs repair or replacement (the frame is OK) and there is an original hardtop with the car. Recorded mileage is 112,000. Good tyres all round (195/70R14 Toyo). I will MOT the car in May, or before purchase if sooner.

Excellent low mileage reliable example. Garaged. Oxfordshire.
Bought June 2007. 10,000 miles done in last 3 years.  2008 spent in Europe.

Work done includes: New power steering rack. New brake pads and shoes at 45k, cooling fan replaced, new headlamps, alternator replaced at 49k, new power steering belt & tensioner, new battery & front tyres ( Dec. 09), replaced front top wishbone inner bushes. Front wheel bearings adjusted. New Radio/CD player, etc.

1980 Reliant Scimitar GTC Manual/Overdrive No. 216, in Stunning Red with Black interior

 A very good original example which has been subject to sympathetic improvements over past few years and is ready to drive away.  The car looks absolutely stunning and has an excellent hardtop with heated rear screen.  There is some minor crazing to the front wing but this does not detract from the look of the car and cannot be seen without close inspection.  Oil pressure spot on and the gearbox and overdrive perform as they should.  The hood is in good condition.
