Good to see you making a start Steve

From what I saw of it yesterday, it's got bucket loads of potential. Most of the bits are there, it just needs quite a few hours fettling and problem solving.

Need to order an outer rear CV gaiter. I'm assuming that it's the Sierra LSD diff. Can anyone confirm part numbers and where best to purchase?

Also what is the best way to fit them :?: will the gaiter strech over the outer CV or do I need to remove the inner and fit it from that end :?: Will I need a cone tool :?:

Also want to replace the rear brake cylinders...should I be avoiding the readily available cylinders of the likes of Ebay :?:

Outers are non-LSD (assuming you still have push in outers?). If you have bolted inners probably easiest to take them off to slide cover on?

There are 4 or 5 different size of slave cylinder - I've just bought two 22.2 mm on eBay (both branded)

I have now fitted the SS1 uprights fitted with turned down MG discs provided from Corky.

I now have my Wilwoods back off Josh so gave them a trial fit today.

My calipers are these baby's http://www.wilwood.com/Search/PartNoSea ... q=120-7432

Image

They have 11.4mm holes in the lugs and my uprights have M12 holes created by Corky so need them drilling out to accept the bigger bolts. Hole centres are correct though. I may need to fettle the tube that secures the pads in place which is very very close to the disc edge when the caliper is in place...difficult to know until caliper is bolted on correctly.

The good news is that the disc seems pretty central in the caliper :)

A bit more progress. Calipers have been drilled to 12mm and now bolt on. The pad retaining bar does catch the edge of the disc but I have turned down the diameter of one side and it now clears the disc :D Just need to do the other side and convert one caliper to LH as I have 2 RH calipers. I need to get a 7/16 flare nut spanner to remove the cross tubes which are tricky to remove so that the bleed nipples are at the top of the caliper on the LH side.

At the rear I have fitted the BMW ARB link to the training arm and fitted the drum assembly back plate from Josh's SS1 scrapper. Also replaced the outer CV gaiter that I damaged whilst removing the trailing arm  All back together now just needs everything tightening up and rear brakes building up with the new shoes.

A bit more progress

Turned down the other pad retainer bar so that it misses the disc and cleaned all the bleed nipples on the calipers.

Just need a 7/16 flare spanner which I hope to get at Tatton on Saturday so that I can remove the X-tube for the RH caliper.
