se5a steel wheels with trims

Post by tony1966 » Sat Jul 27, 2019 2:51 pm

i got a spare set 5 original steelies with composite wheel trims with my se5a[car is presently fitted with slot mags]

does anybody know what size they are -i have to use one as a spare for underbonnet as the spare mag wheel is too big-and what spare tyre size is normally fitted

thanks [again] in advance :D

Standard steels are 5.5Jx14.

Scimitar Wolfrace are 6Jx14.

Standard tyres on both were 185 wide, 80 profile - these are difficult to find at a decent price now, so most go for 195 or 205 and a 75/70 profile.

You probably realise but Wolfrace and steel wheels need different nuts.

The Wolfrace should fit under the bonnet unless you have wider tyres - you can take a little off the lip of e bonnet slam panel to give a bit more clearance?

thanks for reply car has slots-wolfrace type but not genuine "woolfies" there is a set 5 -all fitted with 205/70/14 sadly,it would have been good if they were 185-say 70 or 80 profile -but they are all new tyres so i would be reluctant to switch them-if the steels are 14" i will just get a skinny tyre fitted to one for underbonnet-aka spacesaver

yes-noticed the nuts-got a different set with the steel wheels
