Thanks fellas, I've measured the old Coupe engine and they're standard and the same shape so I'm sorted. Just got a swoppy job t' do tamara!

Well, things have got complicated due to different flywheels on the two engines so option three is in operation. Mark Wilson has come up trumps with a replacement piston and rings so the old Coupe engine is laid aside and repairing the RRBTs engine is happening.
One bonus is the finding of my first-motion shaft to get the clutch on properly, it's been hiding in plain sight! QRG have supplied the head gasket set and core plugs so I'm on with cleaning and painting.

Yeh! It lives, engine all assembled with new piston and rings, slung back in, connected up and started. A stupendous air-lock caused a geyser on initial warm-up but was easily rectified. The carb needs tweaking otherwise everything seems alright. Time fer a brew😜

Well done Brian, the MoT is always a worry even if you're (almost) sure you've covered everything
