Dashboard and centre console in Vinylkote Scimitar blue. Managed to get most of the wiring issues sorted out and the radio working. Next to do is the door card rebuilding. Then the seats come out again for the rails to be finished and maybe a new carpet. See the sample square on the tunnel. Seats will get recovered at some point in the future to match.

There is no point trying to teach a pig to sing. It doesn't work and it annoys the pig.

Nice! Seats look really smart and period.

Make sure the wiper wheel box is well sealed into the shell or the radio will be toast!

I'll second that having had two radios fail in a Rialto - it's worth guarding the radio with a cover. Looking very nice.

Well it is only thrown together at the moment. The grainy iPhone picture does not do the colour justice either. I think we will have a pretty little Kitten by the time I have finished it. The headlining needs replacing, not an issue, but the side window seals have been butchered. I can see that they will fall apart when I take them out, so I need a pair if anyone has any?

Also need a rear door check strap assembly. The rear door has a large hole where the strap mount used to be!

I do wish you would stop posting things about Kittens. :D

Between you on here and talking to John Nutting at Gatcombe I am seriously tempted to get one again!

Go for it Will, wish I'd never sold mine.
Mind you, I wouldn't fancy driving it from York to Antibes ...

Well it is coming on bit by bit. I got the fuel gauge working, (stuck sender), the temperature gauge working (faulty sender), made a closing panel for the access hole made for the tank inspection, fitted the matching blue door cards with the new rubbers and various sundry bits and pieces. Took it out for a test drive and it behaved reasonably well. Handling is surprisingly good, performance would be more than adequate save for a misfire.

Posted this on the WOR forum..

850 engine is a bit tappety.

Engine in the Kitten has a misfire on part load and gives weak mixture symptoms on acceleration. CO se to 3.0 or thereabouts. Dashpot has oil. Timing is at 10 BTDC and is a Lumenition electronic ignition.

When the car first arrived, it had a tappet rattle. I went through the settings twice, to ensure that they were right. The noise is still there and listening closely with a piece of hose, it seems that it might be around number two, maybe in the cam follower area. I will whip the rocker cover off again to investigate, but wondered if someone would be able to say.. "Oh yes, that's likely to be.." ?

I will have another look today given time, but I have Chris' Sabre in for HID upgrade and brakes which takes priority.

Drivers door was destroyed, most of the electrics were u/s and the exhaust manifold and downpipe were leaking badly.
