tell me about your trailers?

Post by CNHSS1 » Sun Nov 15, 2015 9:04 pm

Im due to move house on friday and new house has a nice large garage but have just measured up the garage door and its only 7ft wide so my 92" trailer wont go in! Bugger...
By altering the door frame i can get to 88" max

So i need a trailer to suit my Sabre, ideally a 6'1" bed but narrow enough to go into the garage. Ive checked and both garage doors are same width :-(

Current Brian James Tiltbed will have to go but what do i buy??
To be honest the tiltbeds lovely, no fannying with ramps but ramps are no biggie really.
Ive only had Brian James (Minno and Clubman tiltbed) and a home built (not by me). The BJT tow so well in any conditions and at any speed *cough* but am happy to look at Woodford, PRG etc. Must be a motorsport style trailer, low bed, dont want some digger trailer with a high C of G.

Your thoughts please Chaps and overall widths of your trailers?

I'm very happy with mine but they have phased out the model I have now so not sure any measurements will help.

I couldn't get a trailer small enough to fit in my garage so I went for a bigger trailer that could carry whatever I wanted it too (tow car permitting  )

Corky has his in the garage BUT his is a double door garage

What makes yours Steve? If i can pick up the ideal model used id go for that or if not go for new.
New garage will sit 3 x cars side by side but has two 'normal' doors, cant believe it never even dawned on me!!

Both Steve's and mine are the same model, but different sizes. Mine would fit into a single a garage. It takes up roughly the same footprint as the Audi.

Have a look at this link http://www.southerntrailers.co.uk/trail ... sA-Max.pdf . Mine is the 120-1100 model IIRC.

It'll just about take a 5a, but a 6A/GTC is pushing it a bit.

Yours would have fitted in my garage Steve but would not go through the door :?

As Steve says mine is bigger the A-max 120-3050

Mine is 95.5 inches at its widest point which is where the reflectors stick out at the rear

Cheers Chaps. It looks as if Steve Cs spec would work, so will take some measurements and give BJT a call i think

rather than swap trailers, can you make the door wider, it would make life easier.

Surely a new door is cheaper than a trailer :D :D :D

My PRG is way too wide

Garage is 3 car but has 2 x 'normal' doors. Doors are 7ft wide with 2" frame either side.
I can cut bottom of frame off and attach to door to give me 88" brickwork to brickwork.
Ultimately i can modify brickwork but cost and hassle wise, its easier to swap the trailer. I will have enough on the house 'To do' list without surgery to tye walls

I need a larger trailer ideally - I bought mine to fit into a single garage and no longer need to do that. Perhaps we could have a chat?

I only ride 'em - I dunno what makes them work
