John Woolfe's "Whistler"

http://www.sporting-reliants.com/DragRacingGallery.htm

that was taken around the time that John Woolfe was killed at Le Mans.

10.4s at 140mph terminal, never seen a video of it before :-)

yep - maison blanche, the car was known to be unstable and drivers were known to not strap in properly with the classic start. the Le Mans start was banned following his death from injuries sustained after being thrown clear of the car.

well they found his Chevron after being lost for 30 years - perhaps we should get Dave looking for Whistler? :-)

Dave's updated that page since I last read it - I knew the Whistler became the Sizzler when Woolfe Racing were sponsored by "Hot Wheels" but I didn't know it was the same car (lengthened) that became the Ecstacy with Ed Shaver and even later (lengthened again) the Revell Hillbillies car and then run by Chiltern Valley?
