Well there you go, I'm at the other side of Silverstone on Sat. on the International curcuit; with my Marcos in the CSCC. What time are you racing? I'm on at 13:30, so if you're later I'll come over.

Hi Ben, I think the first is about the same time as you and the second at about 1600. Didn’t realise there was racing on the International at the same time! I’d try to get over to have a look/drool at your Marcos but I don’t think it’ll happen with those timings...

Sorry Si, I didn't get across, as I had a load of family ck.e over, who stayed all afternoon.

I hope you had a good day, the weather was perfect for racing.

As Frodo Monkey said, it was a scorcher on Saturday.

I was racing the Marcos I share with Iain Daniels, on the Silverstone International circuit. It's the same race meeting I'd hoped to get the SS1 ready for (but failed).

We were in the garages next to Phil Otley's SE5

With the Sabre 6's of John Leslie (#4) & John Devlin (#38) just a couple of rows over.

We had an Elan drop all it's engine oil around Stow corner on lap 2, which compromised the line around there and overtaking opportunities. It look them a long time to clear it up after the race too.

We finished 9th over all, 1st in class. Phil was 13th overall, 4th in class. John Devlin with John Leslie behind were 21st & 22nd, 8th & 9th in class. We are all in the 2 - 3 litre class. The big engined cars really stretched their legs here, with 5 V8's in the top 7.

Pretty cool aren’t they? Mark and Amanda who run RTTF sponsor our series - they make all sorts out of F1 car bits.

Bit of race video:

Nice one Ben and good to see my old car still doing the business! Good to see it's got an owner that doesn't crash it on a weekly basis these days too
