Neil Condliffe is racing with his brother Mike and Iain Daniels in the Sabre mentioned elsewhere on here regarding its 1st race earlier in the year... This is THE historic race and getting an entry is a major acheivment, how good is it to see the Sabre Six on the same list at GT40's, Cobras, lightweight E-type's etc!? Shame they're in the GTS12 class with some seriously fast potential race winning cars, but this is still great for the marque 8)

Best of luck lads!!

Hi All,

The words of encouragement are much appreciated. Thanks!

Apologies for not popping my head up earlier, I’ve just got back from a few weeks on the other side of the world, that with getting everything sorted I’ve just been up against it.

As many of you already know we (Me, Mike and Iain) will be competing in the main Historic Spa Six Hours in Belgium over the weekend of the 21st 22nd and 23rd of September :D .

Just to let all know the car is as ready as it will ever be, following Croft and a minor incident there the car was completely stripped again (not because of the incident) in order to check everything over and I’m pleased to say everything seems good.

Six hours in 50 year old car is no mean feat so being able to finish is a real challenge and as Turbster quite rightly points out we are in the GTS12 class with the GT40’s & and the Shelby Cobra’s etc, still, the tortoise beat the hair!

Thanks to Michael for providing a link, alternatively to find out even more and to see some video’s via You Tube follow the instructions below, there are circuit maps for those who are planning to travel to the event.

To find out more go to : http://www.roadbook.de then: Spa Six Hours Endurance race – English (Only option) (Not Spa Six Hours Meeting)

Movies from previous years – Enjoy plenty of movies on You Tube – Some great movies which give you a feel for what it’s all about.

Entry List - Provisional Entry List (PDF) and attached (look for Number 20)

Maps – Various maps of the Area, Circuit, and Pits

Hope to see many of you there!

Kind Regards

Neil

It was a superb weekend. Weather was fine and dry (unusual for Spa) The race was somewhat incident packed especially with 104 cars. The Sabre Six did not escape a couple of happenings but went on to successfully finish the 6 hours endurance. This was a fantastic feat for a fairly freshly prepared car. All credit to Iain, Neil and Mike for pedalling it round when lots of other exotic and expensive machinery were falling by the wayside.
They finally finished 69th. Further postings will include a selection pictures from the huge number taken between all of us.
