Yes I knew that Raz, sorry for any confusion, he was long gone, I didn't know what a Tiger avon was, so Westfield seemed like a good description for the report  yes it was red too....

No worries, just wanted to square that one away :D
He (the Tiger) actually stopped to speak to Ben and I, he said "Is your mate alright, in the other GTE?". We obviously didn't know what he was talking about, as we hadn't seen you parked up or anything, and he said "He had a bit of a spin...." Now we know why...

The other RAFMSA racers were suitably impressed with you both and an invitation has been extended to you to join the RAF Race Challenge if you're interested for next year? Paul, I know you're interested in winning races so I don't know if you'd consider it. Ben?

That's a very interesting offer, I'll have to speak to you about it Raz! My brother used to be inthe RAF - that must count for something...

When I checked out the fastest laps, I couldn't believe how close we were (0.045 secs), it was really good fun!

Had a look at the regs on the website, looks interesting as the scoring isn't based on position, so winning doesn't mean you've scored the most points.....the fact that there's always going to be faster cars isn't that important as consistancy is the key???

Have you two seen that you can compare your times with anyone when you sign in to mylaps.com and click on your name?

Looking at the times, Ben, what the hell did you do in the pit stop?? You lost 1:24.4 to me when I only gave away 44.5 with mine :? did you go for a bacon butty

Correct Paul, a handicap system that rewards the ability to find your pace and maintain it regardless of traffic.
I scored 98.10 points in Sundays race, placing me 2nd (out of 13) within our little handicap system. A bloody good achievement considering I was passing and being passed on nearly every lap! My previous best was something like 97.4 points @ Lydden.
So combined with my third in class from the CSCC guys, I'll get 2 awards for one race! :D

I did say I had a bad pit-stop, I may as well have gone for a bacon butty though! Having got myself flustered after my spin, my head went in the pit stop too and I couldn't get by straps done up again, then I had to hold as another car came into the pits, and wait at the exit as a train of cars came past. Terrible. I can only assume that you lapped me twice while I was in the pits as I was 2 laps down to you, but you never drove past me on the track? Must practice the pit stops...

Mylaps.com is good isn't it! It's the first race I've got recorded on there, even though I registered my transponder at the start of the year. My Swinging 60's race was very inconsistant, but my Saloon V Sports race was very consistant, only 3 laps were quicker than Raz, but I was ahead for 6 of the 8 laps, but behind for the one that counts! It's interesting that I was going faster in the race with Raz, than I did in the Swinging 60's, but I was taking defensive lines rather than the racing line, obviously more to come there.

I can honestly say I was not aware of it at the time. I do believe it became a movable areodynamic device after I rumbled across the kebing in my little spin though.

Well Paul gets a good few mentions in the Motor Sport News write-up of the Cadwell weekend (National press).

Note there are two Turnbulls mentioned here, there was also a Malcolm Turnbull racing a TR6.

Sadly, a bad bit our journalism in my mind..not easily distinguishing between Turnbulls and no mention of a Scimitar! Perhaps its too embarrasing to Triumph and Lotus readers...

On the bright side - a mention is a mention! I prefer Paul's commentary above, though!

I know what you mean Phil, I got confused and they were talking about me  It does say Reliant Scimitar next to my name in the results on the same page and I'm pretty happy just to get a mention tbh 8)

The sweeping ahead part was a bit more accurate in my write up  but I suppose it could've looked different when you weren't close by..

Cheers for the heads up Ben...
