Hi all,
When I get post notifications from this forum I'm not getting the normal link to the post highlighted in the email as usual. It's making reading new posts very difficult. This has only started today and is only happening on emails from this forum, I'm not having issues with any other site. Anyone else having problems. I'm running Windows 10 and Google Chrome and use my Virgin Media email server.

Are you getting all the surrounding text but just missing the actual (blue) hyperlink?

Example of one I received earlier:

Hi phil I'm getting everything including what is supposed to be the link but it isn't highlighted in blue. To go to the linked post I have to copy and paste what would be the highlighted link to the address line. If I click on what is supposed to be the link it just refreshes the page. This is NOT happening with any other email links from other sites. hopefully I've copied this post below.

As soon as you paste it into a post, it will recognise the hyperlinks and “parse” them.

Still not getting them on my emails though. It was OK yesterday and I've done nothing to alter anything. I've tried shutting everything down and rebooting everything. Why this forum and no other forum or website.

The forum is sending the mail, it’s your end that’s not parsing them. Usually that’s the anti-virus software - i don’t know how virgin handles it but Microsoft outlook asks if you want to allow the pictures or links if it thinks they may be unsafe.

I concur - nothing wrong with the forum end of things, Terry.

My gmail emails (when viewed through a browser - normally chrome) did go through a phase of not parsing the text into a hyperlink but it soon sorted itself out without me deliberately doing anything as I normally view the forum via the “View Unread Posts” quicklink anyway. I mention this as I think Virgin email certainly used to be based on the gmail back room software (but with additional bits which don’t work as well from time to time).

I notice that the forum address in Phil’s notification is https (secure) whereas Terry’s is http - that may be why virgin doesn’t like them?

Could be - although I don’t know the reason behind that one I’m afraid (but that screenshot was from within my Gmail App on my phone, so it might be being clever).
