Advice on Class

Post by PeterSM » Tue Feb 07, 2017 6:58 pm

OK Guys advice needed.
I believe that some of you know the car prepared by Dave Evans that I have just purchased.
As I want to compete in the S&SSC what class should I enter? Road-Going or ModProd?

I believe it complies with both, full interior but also full 6 point cage. If you enter RG no need for HANS device, whereas mandatory for MP (post 1976) but I'd say get a HANS just to up the safety anyway but your call

RG means you have to use A or B list tyres, but you can use C list or slicks in MP. Also if you go to MP you can log book the car and save on tax, mot and insurance.

Thanks for the feedback.
OK I shall register for RG unless there is an objection as I also believe it complies with both.
Yes I did intend to get a HANS device anyway.
I am happy to tax the car for the time being.

I was going to ask about tyres. I have 2 sets of Avon XXR and 1 set of TOYO 888 all class B I believe. So unless you think I am being stupid I will stick with these to start with.
