Curbs sprint entry - SSSC member?

Post by nickkeyser » Sun Jul 28, 2013 4:17 pm

I have let me SSSC membership lapse this year, do I have to have it to compete? I'm still signed upto RSSOC.

Also, if I'm not, will I still have a crack at the on-the-day handicap award?

Nick,

I think the answer is yes and no.

You will need to be a member of our championship to enter the sprint; it is normally checked at signing on and at scrutineering.

I don't see how you could win a championship award if your not entered in it TBO but you may be able to win a prize based purely on time at the event.

All my opinion and as a newbie could be wrong

Just seen its 'fastest registered competitor in the classic marques speed challenge'.

Best get signed up, although I think ive got a better chance at 'FTD by a lady' than beating Trevor on handicap!!!!

Classic marques is different. You will be able to enter that on the day for £5 BUT you must be registered in another championship to enter it. Pay your £15 for ours and submit your power and weight

I'm sure you can enter the sprint as an RSSOC member. But if you're not SSSC registered, you won't feature in the championship and I'm not sure you'd be eligible for the Classic Marques.

Steve Cox told me that you must be registered in another championship to enter CM. Can't remember if he checked at Ty Croes though.

Guys,

Any member of an Invited Club can enter, so any RSSOC member can enter the relevant Scim class, and be eligible for awards based on times. If it doubt contact Eric Morrey who will help

Only compies Registed for the SSSC Championship are eligible to score points in the SSOC Championship. I normally calculate these after the event. I understand there was talk of awards at Curbs based on Handicap points, although I am not aware of the details.

The Inter Marque Challenge is not run by the SSSOC. Strictly speaking you should be registed for both the SSSC and Inter Marque to score in this, although I understand the Organiser takes a flexible approach. The scoring system is very similar to our Championship scoring system. It appears Scims do well!

Nick, my SSSC registration form and cheque will be in the post to you tomorrow, along with my cheque for the testing. The cars booked in to the rolling road on wed 31st with its new engine - so power and weight figures will follow very shortly.
