It's just a thought, 2.75% is a lot of lap time when you've already got a serious handicap for the above. I'm just wondering if that would balance things up as my power to weight would be best suited to slicks and some aero to overcome the handicap?

I'm not bothered about being the fastest outright, I want to be competing for 25 points every round ideally..

Well James, my son tells me that most young upstarts who, through ignorance of style and pedigree, pedal the lesser, small sports cheese wedge variety of perambulator, are able to switch programs on the Electric Control Unit(over the shoulder safety driver unit) so they get a sort of Radio 4 engine effect rather than full on Sixmusic. I wonder if there's something missing, courage maybe, that causes excessive caution when wet.

I'm with you on the power/weight thingy, although I usually find 350 hp in a diesel shunter!

The Kumho's normally come into stock February/ March time Paul. We have ran them for years now. With your power super softs won't last based on our experience of soft's certainly on the circuits. You'll probably need mediums at the front at places like Ty Croes on a dry day. I would budget for 2 full sets of Kumho's for a season if you want to be competitive.

I'm with James you will need at least 1C's to put that power down; anything else and you'll just be throwing your power advantage/ handicap disadvantage away.

You will need to be the fastest outright (or very close too) otherwise you are not going to be competing for the 25.

Ah, OK I'll wait and see re the Kumho's.. I used super soft V70's on Tango and they were pretty much gone in less than a season, and like you say long circuits destroy them at an alarming rate! I've got some pretty much brand new medium Yoko 048R's on at the moment but they're nearly 5 years old and didn't feel too good on the test day, certainly not worth the 2.75% as they're 1C's..

Remember we're talking smooth linear power delivery not turbo power delivery, the only tyre issue on the test day was understeer, traction was excellent. I do think you're absolutely right, I'm just making sure I've explored all the options..
