After Event 8, Harewood.

Great time by Corky. (Not excluding others but good points. Just a shame Josh turned up  )

OK. Finally woke up and realised I've been late yet again. My wife thinks my memory is rubbish, tbh she is probably right, I certainly can't remember why I married her. Anyways onto the interesting stuff...

And congrats to Nick... :D

By virtue that he has done a lot of events and has amassed a lot of points (and he happens to be a good driver) the evergreen Josh is still atop the totem pole.

The wananbe Nick K will need to pull his finger out and attend a few more events, somehow keeping the 25 point theme if he's going to keep up.

In the meantime Steve Cork is doing a silent but stealthy job, lurching in the background. Might overcome josh, not sure. Needs a few " Oh dear, I'm the only person at this event. 25er's" me thinks

great fun

A small point, but unless things have changed a compie completing an event scores a minimum 10 points.

Yep, “Competitors whose adjusted time difference with the winner’s best target time is equal to (or greater than) 15 seconds will be awarded 10 points.”

Why doesn’t the spreadsheet do this automatically?

Pretty academic in this instance as the score will be dropped. I’ll have another look at the cell calcs and see if there’s anything in place.

I can’t see anything in the code or calcs to automatically add the 10 point rule. But this spreadsheet is Über complicated, as there are macros, detailed calcs, locked and hidden cells, locked sheets etc. It’s a work of art  ! Whoever wrote it originally is a bit of an Exel genius.

I’m not, but I’ll see what I can do without affecting linked calculations elsewhere.

I wonder if it’s roots lie in the work of “man who worked on one of the first computers” himself - the late Geoffrey William Cooper? He did things with Exel that Microsoft probably forgot about..

No, it was originally designed by Steve Cox aka CM comp Sec when he ran the TVR championship. I believe Ben Gough may have tweaked certain aspects for sssc purposes (track length etc)
