Thanks for the spreadsheet Steve

Been having a play :roll: ; if we all do the following times we would all score 25 points :)

Josh/Steve Oakes (C Tyres) 125 seconds
Steve Cork (A Tyres) 133.36 seconds
Ben Curry (A Tyres*) 131.72 seconds
Paul Turnbull (A Tyres) 125.76 seconds
Peter Smith (B Tyres) 127.02 seconds

* Is Ben on A's :?:

I'll sort out Sunday when I get a chance
So does that just highlight the differences between us in time with your benchmark lap time of 125?

Given it's a percentage, I'm guessing Steve "assumed" that Josh would be pulling a 125 (based on 2017?). If he pulls a 120 from that magical hat of his, then you all need to speed up too :lol:

I forgot to ask Steve, is this based on SSSC tyre handicap?

The CM is a bit of a curve ball, as there’s also a driver weight factor. Once again mine could be good on handicap :lol:

This is SSSC tyres and NO driver weight assuming the sheet you sent me was set up that way Corky (never checked)

Yep Phil is correct Josh's time is based on last year (Dry) The other times are what you have to do to equal him on handicap.

I think more importantly it gives all of us an idea of what "time gap" we need to achieve to beat others on Handicap if you take your time away from whoever you are comparing yourself with.

As an example if You Paul are less than 0.76 slower on Saturday than Josh or myself you will likely beat us on handicap. One word of caution here the faster the time you are comparing yourself to the smaller the gap grows as I will demonstrate when I post the Sunday times which is a shorter lap.

All this will be made much easier if Corky brings his laptop and we can generate actual figures after each run (CM will have a laptop with them too and remember driver weight and tyres are different in CM :w )

Yes I gain a bit on Josh in CM with my extra mm "Muscle bulk", tyre %'s are different and CM count our Kumho's as B's as we are a pre 1990 car :w

So if its very close it's possible that the 25 point winner in SSSC might not be the highest scimitar class scorer in CM :)

Sunday time gaps

Josh/Steve Oakes (C Tyres) 100 seconds (bit of an educated guess; not ran this car in the dry on Sunday)
Steve Cork (A Tyres) 106.70 seconds
Ben Curry (A Tyres*) 105.35 seconds
Paul Turnbull (A Tyres) 100.61 seconds
Peter Smith (B Tyres) 101.60 seconds

* Ben are you on A's :?:

Corky; forgot to ask are you running your Rainsport 3 tyres in the dry as A's or do you have another set of A's to use saving them for the wet :?:

I’m going to see how close I get to last year’s times before I switch to Bs. I had a few email exchanges with Steve Cox, and I’m going to let the CM guys know if/when I do.

I think I was around 106 secs last year with 199BHP and B list tyres and 40kg more than the SS1. I think my best in the DET was IRO 103/4 secs, but I’d have to check, my memory may be flattering me :lol:

If I can get a 106 in this car, with or without 1Bs I’ll be very happy indeed.

Tried to locate our spare kettle and it turns out it's actually a toaster :roll: :lol:

So Corky bring your stove and I'll bring some spare gas assuming I can find it :)

I'll bring some tea and coffee and some bottled water along with the milk. I can bring a cool box if someone has 12v power I can plug it into :?:

No worries Steve, I've got a couple of gas canisters and I'll have my cool box with me. There should be enough space in there for a bottle of milk. There's a tap outside the garage, so no need for bottled water.

We should be on site way before that. We'll either be in the garage, walking the circuit or in the bar.

My number is 07903 251576. Give me a ring when you arrive.
