couldnt agree with you more John, the big scims are dominating the Classic Marques 8)

within scim circles, im not exactly a fan of the big scims... but when up agianst other marques its a united front, Scims vs the rest :-)

What a cracking day! Weather was exceptional and the views from the paddock were stunning over the Yorkshire countryside.
Two practice runs and the first timed run before lunch indicates how efficiently the event was run but there were not the usual full entry for this event.
It looked like my fastest run was to be the 1st practice and, after lunch, I messed up the 2nd timed run with two missed gear-changes on the same corner.
Time to gather thoughts and pull out a decent effort. While waiting in the start-line queue, I did a Seb Vettel, closed my eyes and imagined the perfect run to see if that would do the trick.
The ONE!
On to the line, green light and away with no axle tramp and little wheel spin(Well, at least I got that bit right!). Into the 90 right, on the apex and accelerate hard downhill towards the right/left chicane, brake HARD, flick right then tightly left to line up for the tight then easing 180 right. Apexed early and floored it out of the corner in a satisfying power drift up the small rise that hides the next 90 left(Blimey, this seems to be going well!) :o . I bravely braked late and HARD, twitched the wheel and powered round on the limit(Mind the grass! Phew, missed it!).
On to the next, a smooth, faster 90 right(watch out for the Armco on the outside!), got it right and on to the left kink, short straight and 110 right. Can I take it flat? NO, late apex and softly brake though the kink then HARD and flick it round, throttle ON and through the farm buildings with the exhaust echoing all around. Lovely!
Brake HARD for the 180 left, apex early, run wide on the exit already powering up the hill in front of the spectators gallery. Where to brake? Advertising hoarding,-----------no, speed gun,-----no, red lights, YES & HARD. The last corner is a "catch you out", double apex and tightens quickly, all up hill, the last bit hidden. I started out left, pulled it to the first apex then drifted out in the centre under heavy braking and finally twitched it hard right, max throttle to power slide over the line. :D I slowed down to walking pace and there was the clock------76.97. Cor, what a blast!
I've never done Harewood better, it's one which I will remember for a very long time. Crusty Snr.

Spoke to Dad (Flat Cap) Sunday evening and he was literally bouncing...spoke to Mum (Mrs Pit Crew) yesterday and she reports he's still bouncing
This is why we do it and why we get grumpy when we can't :-(
Well done Dad, great run for a standard car and role on Curbs!

Very well done everyone. I'm gutted I missed it. Glad to hear the Scims are giving the TVRs something to worry about. See you all at Aintree, can't wait.

At this rate, they'll be applying a "Tamworth" correction factor next year in the Classic Marques

I'm hoping the other possibility happens; Lots of Tivs for sale and they start buying Scimitars...more of Tamworths finest out on the tracks...

On another note, CNH - get back in the garage as it looks like there's a two pronged attack biting at the heels of your records...
