Proposed Drives Meeting January

The lack of interest in attendance does seem to produce 2 thoughts:-

Firstly Peter and Mike are doing a good job and most are almost universally happy with the SSSC offering, or theyd be ready to travel, attend a DM and make changes

Secondly, why not save the costs for all (hire of room, travel etc) and send out pots and trophies via scimitarians or postage at cost. Items to be discussed either via email circulars over a week Or so, or a Skype type meeting

I think the lack of responses to this thread indicates that very few people actually wish to attend.

As per Craig's suggestion above pots should be distributed by Scimtarians and by post as a last resort.

The way forward to be discussed by private thread on here, email or by Skype as already mentioned.

To be fair, my poibt was, i think a few wish to attend, but cost either in time or fuel, makes it difficult to justify. Historically when there are no issues, compies tend not to bother, so the fact that people are less inclined suggests things are OK or they would make the effort to attend to change their championship :-)

As for the pots, I think we should make the effort to receive them in person, good etiquette imho, but if the recipients can't attend, then they could be posted at cost if that's easier

I don't agree that we should be posting silverware around the country.

Nor do I really, hence the 1st option is attendance, to enjoy the plaudits of your peers, secondly if circumstances dictate you cannot attend (as opposed to not being bothered) then arrangement via scimitarians or at 1st event of 2019, and as last resort postage and I'd suggest at recipients cost (still cheaper than fuel to collect, so shouldn't be a cost issue)

Morning,

Haven't been on the forums for a few weeks for a number of reasons but have now caught up on the threads.

I should be ok for a January meeting, but would also be happy with the other suggestions of skype, debate on the forum or tagging onto the March test day.

Due to the distance Mickey has to travel, can I suggest a more central location? what about Weston-super- Mare or Bristol

Andy
