What time can you sign in from? Start back from there. You need to have the car unloaded and ready to run before then. Normally you sign on then scrutineers come round.

Find the time to at least walk down to the bends in the middle of the hill before practice. I can't see a problem with your son. Just remember you are going to be pretty tied up for much of the day. I know Craig has taken both his sons.

I would get to the circuit for 7am.

Your son will be fine at Gurston, he just needs to understand you won’t be able to focus on him during the day.

Corky also takes his two boys sometimes. I would say that there may not be much for him to do. On the other hand you need to allow plenty of time! As Nick has said get there early so you are not rushed. Check the Finals when they arrive or ask the organisers if you can leave the car at the track the night before (and fit an extra lock just in case!). If you are getting there on the Friday see if you can walk the track then, one less job for the morning.
Take some change, you will probably have to purchase a sticker for your helmet, also hans device if you are using one. Change is good for trackside coffee, bacon butties etc.

More than that Jim, look at the Gurston Down website http://www.gurstondown.org/event-calendar/ and under 'competitor information' then 'entry lists & final instructions' you will find the full lists, about 130 entries on Saturday and bikes as well on Sunday. Should be a busy day!

Sorry Richard, I should have been more specific - the list above is Classic Marques Championship entries only.

Nick was in the 38s, Richard in the 42s (and grumpy :D ), I was in the 46s (after fuelling problems) and Andy was in the 50 somethings and improving all day.

Copied and Pasted from CM Facebook feed by Steve Cox
A great win for Howard Barnard today who just shaded Graham Beale by 0.01 to take gold. Matt Eady, Steve Hill and Steve Lyle were all within a coat of paint and took home good points in the 24s. Especially nice to see a superb turnout of Scimitars. Tomorrow we are joined by the Triumphs and Morgans to bring our entry up to 39 for the day.

Good work everyone.

Possibly my favorite hill climb? Have fun tomorrow, everyone's task is to find more time somewhere on Sunday...

Top tip is that no braking is required at Hollow, just a lift. Everyone at the cafe can see your brake lights.

Also the speed lost turning into the steep gradient at Karousel means you don't have to brake as hard before the turn in. A 3rd to 1st gear change here was harsh, but worked well for carrying the speed in without upsetting the car with an extra down change on the approach.

Scary place. I remember Ben showing me the way in Big Bob many years ago. Not brave enough at Hollow, Overdrove Deers Leep. Exit speed from Ashes important.
