Just browsing YouTube (like you do?) and found this clip of the new Curbs layout. The clip is taken from a guy driving a Caterham around the new figure of 8 layout.
Looks very interesting!

Some had a go at the new layout on the test day.

If using it is an option for the Curbs Sprint in August, then it gets my vote. It could liven it up a bit !

I should have added that info (from the test day thread) - thanks for the reminder Kev :-)

SDCC have spent more money on the track this year - new Tarmac, new armco and a new route

There's now a small road between the mound and the marshals hut on the straight - so it's a figure of 8 (picture, 1000 words) - from the new Curborough website here

Mmm.... You could be right there Steve!
I wonder how it will suit the posh Fiats on the Sunday Curbs Sprint :-)

Does this mean a new set of records to set... 8)

Its a much more CVH friendly route now, with only one full drag down the straight.

Certainly makes it a better spectator venue IMO?

And - unusually, the old records would still be competed as the old route is unchanged.

It may be harder to follow though? But I think its a good thing, it looks more complex, and complexity is something curbs has always lacked in.

Is this the format we will be running in the August?

but the records will have to change as the track length (distance driven) is different with the crossover surely? only by a few yards, but in a sport where we are separated by 1/10ths and 1/100ths surely itll be different?

im not sure how 'better' is quantified, but it would move some of the action further down so the spectators may not congregate at the finishline as much.

im not for or against tbh, so no axe to grind either way, in fact id like my name on the crossover lap record as well as the double lapper
