Does anyone know if MBs have chassis number also stamped into the chassis - and if so where?

Inside face of suspension turret on driver side.
Just below the brace bar.
Very difficult to see normally.
First pic is a Late Galve GTC chassis so around MB time.

Mike read the picture caption

The last Two are SE5/A

The grey paint is Zinc rich spray that I use on my Galvy fabrications, only one application about Three years ago to cover up the bare metal that I had to scrape to so as to find that stamping.

Thanks for the help. Found the number just where Mark said it would be and after removing spare wheel and degreasing chassis member the number should be clear enough for the vehicle inspector to read.

Sorry, should explain. In process of importing the vehicle to Sweden so it's part of the vehicle ID inspection. I.e. making sure the vehicle matches the documentation. Step one is this check and then, when I get the new registration, a Swedish 'MoT', the bilbesiktning. That will have to wait untill next year since from 1 Dec it is illegal to drive on summer tyres and I don't have winter ones. It'll be a winter in the garage and plenty of tinkering time.

Ok.
Will was interested in MB 42 numbers so he could return the Original number plate back to it.
