Goodwood Photo Competition

Post by Roger Pennington » Thu Mar 07, 2019 1:15 am

Thanks, Ian, Mike, Stu, Chris, and Anders. :D

Stu, I've found the opposite - since I retired I've been taking far more :) Retirement has given the opportunity to get out much more, to many more events. In fact the delay in responding to these latest posts was in part because I spent all day Tuesday at Goodwood (again! ) at an HRDC test day taking even more photographs.... As well as producing more, I'm one of those irritating people who is never satisfied, which means I don't tend to complete anything  so I dpn't think I've ever believed that my work is ready to be published.

Anders, Re. the Jags, IVA400 driven by John Young, ended up the winner after a close battle. He's a quick driver in whatever he sits in, and he seemed to have that bit more aggression (as I hope the photo conveys!).
I enjoyed your website report on the Revival, and your photos, good to hear you enjoyed your visit :D You've done a great job of capturing the overall spirit of the event; my weak spot is always the "people" side of things, I'm better at cars.

I've been fortunate to have attended every Festival of Speed, Revival, and Members' Meeting and I was a Founder Member of the GRRC when it was launched in 1998, through to the present day. So this year I got to do the Founder Members' grid walk on the Sunday, as well as the general GRRC one on the Saturday.

Returning to Tuesday's HRDC day, as well as the fairly "normal" classics like Minis and Lotus Cortinas, their members also race more unusual machinery. You don't often see a Tornado Talisman :)

Roger, I'm glad you enjoyed my Revival report. It's a fabulous event! Wish I could say I had attended them all....

That Talisman is just gorgeous. Probably one of the few cars I would consider swapping my Rochdale Olympic with.

Kind Regards,
