One of those pics of the Sabre in the Monte Carlo Rally mentions the co-pilot as a certain G.Cooper. Anyone we know?

Was clearing out a filing cabinet about 3 weeks ago and this turned up. It is taken at the Bristol Classic Car Show in - probably - the 80's. I think that is Clinton Kay by his GTC (keen nogginer at the time) and I suspect the SE5a is the one rebuilt to a very high standard by Avon classics. I wonder where KKM 514P and 557 DBP are now.

PS. Also found the photos of my Coupe chassis restoration which I will share on a different thread.

KKM is still taxed and MOTed so it looks like it's still about somewhere :)

DBP is now a 2002 MG TF (personal plate transfer presumably?) so the GTC could still be around, under a different number?

Re headlight covers, a few cars had them fitted but I don't know where they came from.
There is often talk of getting them re-made and I always put my name down for a pair but nothing happens.

Thanks Chris for the info :D I had never seen one before and was a bit puzzled
Very slightly tinted in grey would look nice on Dark Star, wouldn't it ??

I first remember seeing these on a Coupe campaigned in the late 80's onwards by Brian Clutterbuck. There is a picture in slice 104. It was Coupe FWB 144H. Sadly I don't remember where the covers came from.

Picture above is Curborough '93
My next picture of it is 2009 which doesn't qualify for Period Pictures ;)
Sadly the car no longer wears its eyebrows

Here's an oldie, not sure if I've posted it before ...
Castle Howard Hillclimb about 1968, a Scimitar Coupé - and young Don Pither if I'm not mistaken.

How funny to see a photo of me & my old mucker Craig H posted under "Period Pictures / Old Photos / Memories". That was at Loton Park in (only) 2008. But I suppose Batmobile is no more (RIP 2009) Big Bob is in waiting for it's next episode, whatever that may be? Craig's got more grey hair, whilst I'm endeavouring to look less camp in photos. Here's another photo, because I can:

Best of days Mr G :-)
little did I (we) realise just how far we pushed each other with those two cars, I don't think any of those seasons times have been beaten since.
