On Thursday I was at Goodwood and saw Henry in the pitlane, enthusiastically talking to the participants and gathering tales and information to embellish his commentary at the forthcoming Members' Meeting. I was gutted to hear, later that evening, that he had been killed in a road accident, riding home on his motorcycle. He has been a core member of the commentary team at all the Goodwood events, but also at other events like the Silverstone Classic. He has also written for magazines like Autosport. Read more here and also Goodwood here

RIP Henry.

An ironic death, perhaps, but one must assume he died doing what he enjoyed most, being out on the road... Most shocking for those who knew him, I am sure, and a salutory reminder to those left behind not to waste a moment. Carpe diem!
