Great show and I am planning to be there again, but could you organise some sunshine this year!

Just back from a great show at NE Scimitar Day 2016 but sadly sunshine was in short supply!

Image

It was persisting down in the morning but that did not stop the hardy exhibitors enjoying themselves!

Image

I counted 15 cars which was up on the 12 I recall last year.

Image
Image

The standard of cars was exceptional with many well presented examples - Ahem!

Image

But the day improved as the rain stopped and the day was at least warm - ish - which finally drew the crowds out.

Image

And the exhibitors seemed to be enjoying themselves too!

Image
Image

Caption Competition!

A big thank you to Jim and all who organised this year's show and also to the participants including the Middlebridge owners who, with the exception of Peter, :P travelled no small distance to support this excellent event. If you have not been to a NE Scimitar Day then I recommend it to you. I may not be there next year so someone else can get the longest distance award. :D

(I nearly was not there this year - but that is another story!)

Looks like a great line-up of cars, well done all :D

Shame the weather was unkind.

As it was me in the caption competition photo I know exactly what was said.
I said "I gave him right to the side of the head and Lenox Lewis went down like a sack of potatoes"
and Mick said "Yes I once had a dream similar to that".

No mention of the ( newish ) Volvo that fell to bits as it passed on the road behind us.

Yes, that was weird, wasn't it. It looked like a steering component failed and left the wheels pointing different directions. Just as well it happened at relatively low speed.

I was also thinking of a caption for the one below yours along the lines of "I never knew they had rear wheel steering, or that many racks either!"

Two of the three 5A on show do have power steering - Gerry's and Alan's - Mick will be doing his soon.

Missed it this year for the first time in many years.
