National Family Weekend CANCELLED

Post by ScimmyMike » Wed Apr 27, 2016 12:36 pm

Just like to flag this up, I am aware that another member has for his own reasons.

Date 13th to 15th May 2016

Location, Hatton Country World Dark Ln, Hatton, Warwick CV35 8XA website

What's going on, we have arranged, Autotest, driving challenge, concours, group meal, members meeting and a fun quiz plus the attractions on site such as the shopping village, adventure world (admission charge applies, we've obtained a group booking discount for those wishing to enter) on site country pub etc.

It's all booked and arranged and sat waiting for people to come along, we just need those people now, if you would like to join us in just over two weeks now would be a very good time to get those booking forms into the club

Slice extract details
Booking form & menu details as noted on the menu we need to book this by this weekend so can you please let the club know as soon as possible please, min 25 bookings are required to make it viable with the venue.

Let's make this a great club weekend, a more family orientated version of the Curborough Sporting Weekend.

Remember, a club is only as successful as its membership, the members make the club what it is, this one, in my opinion is right up there with the best.

I am really pleased that so much effort has been put into finding a new venue for the family weekend. We went to the previous ones at the aqua park and were looking forward to going again to a new location. Nice that it is much closer now and possibly easier for most to get to. It looks a good venue, so hope it will do well.

Please don't anyone be put off by my tongue in cheek comments, sometimes my dry sense of humour gets misconstrued! I thoroughly recommend the event, even though I dare not attend personally. ;-)

Teresa and I are planning to visit on both Saturday and Sunday in the Scimitar. Sadly we're not camping as we're staying at parents who live nearby.

We're bringing our dog "Sabre" (Springer Spaniel) who wants to make friends with some other RSSOC doggies :D

We will have a labrador or 3 for Sabre to meet.

I have to say I found your comments interesting.... I hadn't realised the extent and availability of the shopping facilites. I think it looks like an excellent location and I'm sure your better half will not spend as much as you could at any other car event!!! Shame on you for suggesting this.

PS.... Ian should learn not to leave himself logged in on a shared computer ..... LOL... looking forward to ALL the entertainment and arrangements.... Barbara

Would have liked to have gone to this but unfortunately it clashes with the SSSC calendar as Debden sprint is on the Saturday.

Hope it goes well and you all enjoy the weekend.

You are right, not sure how but stuck it in wrong on my own schedule.

Seems I've got 2 sprints next weekend then with MIRA on the Saturday!

Will have to see about the Family weekend. A wide array of shops you say Andy?

RR
Sorry to steal the thread!

How much do you know about MIRA? Fast and very grippy track Tight Security, no camara's etc and no spectators. Probably worth talking to someone who is going. Don't know Debden. James Carter is probably you man.

In Classic Car Weekly (11th May) where there is a Scimitar feature there is an advert for the club and the family weekend.
I'm aiming to go to the ROC weekend in Derby at the end of May - hoping for good weather so we can go in the GTC and get on and off the field without problem!
