Still in Europe traveling around after a fantastic International Weekend, good catching up with friends and meeting new ones. Many thanks to Albert and Ute for all the organisation and the road trips seeing wonderful countryside. If you did not go you missed out on a great weekend, so you will have to look out for next year in County Durham.

Filled our Sabre up with Aral Ultra 102 at Aachn then did not have to fill it again until near Austria - travelling between 60 and 70 most of the time with the odd drop because of road works and the odd speed up to 90 to pass lorries we have made 52mpg yes 52. Pity we cannot buy Aral in the uk - engine runs cooler eith it as well.

Shell V-power racing was 101 octane I think when I was last in Germany?

Home today from Antwerp - horrendous journey to Calais in the worst Mway rain I have seen for a long time. Suffering from a nasty dose of Sabre Leg - that's sopping wet jeans where it drops off the dashboard edge.
Anyone claiming a nice suntan is actually rusty!

Had a great ride up to Calais no hold ups via Lille , then a fire in the tunnel meant a 10 hour wait, for the train !!!

Had this from Jef yesterday. Three mortal accidents round Antwerp today, long after you passed through, delays of two hours round Antwerp.

I'm not surprised about those accidents. Conditions terrible combined with maniac drivers. Tailgating is worse than you get over here. I got a bit scared just after JFK tunnel where 4 lanes going to 3 and a tanker coming in from the right I was in L2/4 potentially squeezed into a truck in L3/4. Sabre6 power forced my way left and away.

For us it was a straightforward run back to the port near Amsterdam (about 180 miles in one hit) and then overnight ferry back to Newcastle and another 12 miles or so home. A great weekend; thanks all. Now have to get the car clean for a charity run on Sunday.

Remember, 2017 will be in Durham. I'll start a thread soon; anybody interested get in touch with me.

So you went in the 5a after all? Glad it behaved itself. :D (and put us down as provisionals for 2017)

Jim was able to return 2014's help by doing a temp fix to Martin & Myrna's failed fan circuit at the roadside when they boiled up.
