The starter was 'new' 5 years ago (about 5k miles), but in the tradition of Brian Fade that probably means a set of brushes and a blow over with a coat of matt black and no grease

I suspect your suspicions are justified. Who is/was Brian Fade?

Having just finished my duties organizing the family trip down under ...
I am now ready to get back to the photos of last week-end's meeting in Laon

I will post here just some 'thumbnails' giving a quick overview of the good time
that we have enjoyed ... just as a teaser
I will soon share my set of photos (370 in total) with all participants (check your mail)
Others have already started sharing their pics (thanks Bart & Jef  )
at the end of the day I guess that we'll have a huge collection of memories of this event 8)

Really looking forward to next year's edition !
Cheers,
Fred

Let's start with the 32 participants of this year

The notorious 'place de l'Hotel de Ville' of Laon which you saw already above was
indeed just the right size to accomodate the herd of Scimitars 8)
Thanks again to the guys from the local club who had organized with the city staff
the securing of the square just for us
The two guys next to the Purple stayed with us all the time and were extremely
helpful, in particular with negotiating the access to someone's bedroom for shooting
from above
I promised to send them pictures of this sunday morning meeting

Fred, the two "halves" of the photo looking down into the square (two top centre and right, in the last post) could, in photoshop, be merged into a single panoramic photo, like this: :D

Hello Roger, nice to see that you could shoot a 'close up panoramic' 8)
All the panoramics that I did included the full Town Hall building ... which indeed dwarfs the cars.
Unfortunately I am not a Photoshop user (yet) so probably all I can do is crop one of my panoramics
I'd love to have a copy of your pic ... it would make a nice picture on my office wall

Btw, while I was talking to the guy with the peugeot convertible he was complaining to the other guy
from the city staff - who was waiting to pick up the fences - about the road signs on the square ...
they simply ruin the harmony and certainly many photos

Cheers,
Fred

Thanks, Fred :D

To produce a higher-resolution copy of the panorama, I'd need the higher-resolution versions of the originals - I'll PM you my email so you can send me them if you like?

Incidentally, it's worth noting that as time goes on, the high-end features from the full version of Photoshop, tend to filter-down into the lesser versions. This means that things like panoramas are in Photoshop Elements (latest version is 12) which is much more affordable than the full program :)
