Here's what the flywheel looked like - I couldn't believe it. And it's just the angle of the photo Mikey ;)

I blame the demise of Asbestos for clutch linings - they add steel swarf into the mix for strength and temperature stability reasons.

Missing a couple of bolts maybe ? Space for 2 more. Anyways I've done the same. Dropped the Omega box whilst all the gubbins in situ. Not sure if im making it easier or harder tbh.

I've just been reading your thread with jealousy! Wish I could've chopped some tunnel out to help
The Jag box weighs an absolute tonne too, a lot more than any Scim box so I'm going to get creative with the tools to lift it back up into place. Hopefully I'll have it together in the next week

Agreed, you kinda want a low lift trolley jack with all wheels manoeuvrable, not just the rear, with a cradle to put the box in, and a smooth floor

I like the lateral thinking, beats just balancing on a section of 4" x 2" timber but I'd be keeping fingers well clear in case it topples , that would spoil things a touch

I've put some threaded bar up through the stand mounting holes so the fingers are now about 6" up the side of the gearbox. I've given it a good shove and all seems good so far

I can confirm the makeshift transmission jack works and the gearbox is in again :)

I couldn't lift it onto the scales but it's roughly twice the weight of a Ti Gearbox :?

Great stuff. My wife is away at the moment so perfect opportunity to get down the garage, but it dark and wet and I'm tired and the rabbit has been on her own all day and I've lit the fire and a movie must be calling

Maybe Baby Driver again.....
