EDIS still needs to see all 35 teeth even in default mode - otherwise it doesn’t know when to fire. If there’s no correction waveform back from the ECU (or its nonsense) then you get the 10 degrees.

I found that the ford sensors seemed to prefer quite a thick trigger wheel (5mm) compared with the Vauxhall one I've previously used.
That’s why I used the trigger wheel recovered from a 1.8 Sierra..

Never try and argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you based on experience.

Good day all,

i just got back from the car where i did the following.

1.disconnected the CPS from the wiring
2.disconnected the EDIS module
3.confirmed continuity between the edis connector and the other connectors.Reconnected the EDIS module.
4.provided 12v (starter motor) and grounds ( body bolt)
5.confirmed 12v and grounds voltages at the coil pack connectors ( pin1,2 and 2.3)
6.Connected a 12v low current LED between pins 2 and 1 and pin 2 and 3....
I was expecting to see the LED to flash intermittently based on the EDIS firing at 10 BTDC... but the LED came on ( very dim) and was constantly on...?

so i brought it all back home to test again...

Good day all,

some success with the new CS, a LED bulb on the coil clip ( pin2,3) gave constant rate of blink...so we are game on!! :)
Still need to space the trigger wheel...thinking of adding space by additional nuts between the pulley and the wheel...
