Hmm, we may have lost another one then.
It was on the road in 2004, for sale as a 'project' in 2012.
Used to be a nice car ...

It was absolutely not roadworthy in 2004. In May 2004 I had a look at this car, being for sale. It was a project in progress. Engine etc done, chassis done. Body and interiour still to be taken on.
I decided not to do it, too many projects. A few months later it was sold. But also never finished. Then sold on in 2012-ish in almost the same conditin as in 2004. There is where I lost track of it.
In 2004 it was already a project for about 20 years. So last on the road, maybe around 1983/1984.

Are you sure that photo is the same car, Chris? Enlarging the registration plate, it's not all legible, but it's certainly not 40-TG-96?

I noticed that but it's not GAA either ;-)
I think it has been disguised?
The car was definitely in Holland.

Disguised? In what respect? It looks like a fairly ordinary battered number plate to me, I can't see any particular evidence of it being photochopped or anything like that?
By GAA I presume you mean GAA401D? That's spoken for, not far away from me in 2013 in this thread (probably needs updating on your list! :D )

Battered? I've seen fried fish more legible than that.

HOWEVER I must admit you have a point, so I was forced investigate.
And the evidence shows that the car is (was?) indeed 40-TG-96, but only since 1977.
Before that it was ?AA 1?4E.
It was exported and subsequently restored in Holland, unfortunately I have no clues for the date of the restoration.
The big dutch bloke in the last photo may be familiar to Erik ...

Edit ... Since I have no date I should say it was started to be restored in Holland

A couple of photo updates and news from 1996/7 8)

BAR 158F chassis 0695 a well-known car (and owner) seen at Kineton, Warwicks is currently for sale too cheap at 7995 sterling.
OYT 633F chassis 0631 (Rover V8) was out at Brighton Classic Car Rally looking fantastic after its recent rebuild.

Looking through old Slices the other day I find some Coupé references
SEA 330G chassis 0893 belonged to WV Haine in 1996
Marco Kany's MZ-RC 68H chassis 0739 was owned in 1996 by Wieland and Gerlinda Feige, it was formerly registered DLG 346F
KBE 752E chassis 0535 in 1997 belonged to ... Ted Howles, who only sold it recently.

Not quite up to date news Chris....I included a couple of photos of OYT in my London to Brighton article back in Slice 284.

Not much to report recently.
A few updates in the non-public bits of the register.
And I know who bought the Percival Motors blue car but I am sworn to secrecy for the moment 8)
