Chassis number

Post by NigelW » Wed Jan 25, 2017 11:26 am

Hi all.
A question please.
Apart from the engine bay plate, is the chassis number on a 1967 GT stamped onto the chassis. If so whereabouts please?
Thanks
Nige.

Apparently on the drivers side front suspension tower .
On the left when you open the bonnet and below the brace

On most Coupes, it was scribed on the OS part that the steering rack bolts to. The sticky up bits (though they're horizontal on V6s)

There is a marked chassis number under the painting, so it is a origin mark's made by the factory (425046). I had to scrape the original red antirust in the holes of the marking.
The marking is very light and the square tube was distorted by a hammer. Was it a test ? (I know all the coupe gurus will said it's not from origin).
Sorry about the picture poor quality.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
I found it on the nearside square tube above the rack gaiter. Luckily it tallies with the reg. Doc.
I have been reading about DVLA tightening up the identity rules in anticipation of mot changes.

Hi Geaint
On my SE4a it is on the passenger side horizontal 1inch square tube above the steering rack, behind the radiator . If you pm your email I will sent you some photos. It is stamped.
Cheers
Nige
