Coupe Track Rod Ends

Post by Oaksey » Wed Sep 04, 2013 8:51 pm

EDIT: They Are TR6/T2500 part number GSJ156. £7.50 each from James Paddock
Or Rimmers

Does anyone know what other car/s they fit?

A search has turned up nothing. And before anyone says, yes, I know QRG will have them, but funds are more than tight ATM with the engine and chassis rebuild ;)

I think the TRE's are TR4 and the rack is Herald/Spitfire.

If you can see the tree before you hit it that's understeer
if you only feel the tree as you hit it that's oversteer

Ah sounds like you haven't quite developed the technique of listening to six conversations at a time young Josh, that comes with age and experience, ask your dad

We took a trip over to Paddocks in Chester with the steering rack and a steering arm to find out what fitted. I turns out its a TR6/2500 part (even though I bought a pair of TR6 ones before and they didn't fit the rack)
So be careful what you buy.

First post now includes info, so topic can be stickied for future reference :)

For my Straight Six Coupe Ive just bought and fitted TR4-6 track rod ends part GSJ156 from Parts 4 MG Triumph Cars cost £5 each total £10 plus £2 vat, come fitted with grease nipples.
I had in stock some SE5 track rod ends but larger diameter thread on steering rack so no good.

Own and restored by me.
SE4 St 6 Coupe, SE6A, SE6B and Austin 10 1934
Previous Scimitars
SS1 1300 a runner but too small.
SE5 which needed restoration but stupidly sold to fund a restoration project MGBGT which I part restored and subsequently sold.
