Before I post the chassis number version here is yet another Coupé for sale.
I'm not sure that it is a current ad, as it is the same as in 2015  but the site seems to have been updated fairly recently and other cars listed are actually for sale ... Andrew Collins' for example.
http://www.classiccarshq.co.uk/ads/sale ... auto-1968/
This is a strange machine which has over the years had Audi 5 cylinder, Alfa Romeo and now a Chevy engine which looks a bit overloaded.
The chassis 'bracing' in the engine bay might explain the angle of the front wheels (this photo is not in the ad 8) ).

I saw it, it was IIRC a Diesel landy chassis with Coupe body/doors

Apparently a Ford Ranger, whatever that might be.
Someone had the bright idea of putting two wrecks together to make ... another wreck

Found it.
The shell was for sale by Tribute Automotive (Scimitar kit car builders) earlier this year at 850 sterling.
It looked in pretty sound condition, what a shame to cut it up.
I wonder how much the pickup builder paid for the privilege.

Weren't they the sellers for the "pickup" too? Some of the backgroiund in the two sets of photos looks very similar?

The thought had crossed my mind.
In which case I wonder what sort of a botch-up they made with the chassis :|
What a waste.

I expect the chassis went under a Formosa? Actually a very nice looking kit IMHO.

I'm not interested enough to look it up but is a Formosa based on a Coupé chassis ?
Because obviously a GTE chassis is not the same.
And Coupés are much rarer than GTE's ...

I believe Tribute started using Triumph Herald or Spitfire chassis but Scimitars are much cheaper and handle better, so they (Gary) modified some of the range to fit. The Formosa has been built on a GTE chassis but a coupe would probably be nearer the original Triumph dimensions.

The car was advertised and he bought it to use the chassis. The remains of the car were advertised widely and no-one bought it - it might look rubbish to you and I but he can do what he likes with it :D
