Kitten rear axle

Post by AJL Electronics » Tue Oct 20, 2015 2:41 pm

Just had an MOT and they noticed that the rear axle didn't look square. I have also had a brake judder that I couldn't get to the bottom of. So, investigating, the axle was over an inch too far back on the driver's side. When taking it apart, the locating peg from the spring to the axle mount was in the offset hole, not the centre one as per left side. Dealt with all that ans hopefully the test drive may show that the brake judder is sorted.

I always found that brake judder was due to the front drum brakes - fitting discs was always the best mod to do on the Kitten.

But can you always brake in a straight line - I never knew which way the car was going to go - which made me a very careful driver when out in the kitten - I still wish I had kept it.
